COURT OF HONOR RESULTS GIVEN The Polk County Boy Scout Court of Honor was held Monday night at the Tryon school house and the folowing Scouts made ad vancements : Tenderfoot rank—Buren Hayes, and Alfred Gilliam, Columbus; Stephen Morley Foster, Tryon. Second class—David Pearl, Jack Pittman, Larry Wilson, John C. Gallimore, Wesley Huntsinger, Ronnie Lankford and James Mc Cain, Tryon; Kermit Cantrell, Eugene Clontz of Columbus. First class—Curtis Ross and James Ballew, Tryon. Carpentry—Charles Smith, Try on. Firemanship—Austin Chapman, Lee Orr, Tryon. Pathfinding — Marion Under wood, Tryon; Bill Walace, Colum bus. Personal health—Ned Conner, Columbus. Plumbing—Carl Pace, Tryon. Rocks and minerals—Lynnwood Thompson, Tryon. Safety—Tpmmy Arledge, Tryon. Star rank—Tommy Arledge. The following men served on the Court of Honor: J. T. Arledge, Robert Dick, R. C. Burnett, B. B. Flynn, Dr. C. W. McCall, Holland Brady Jr., and Gordon Graham. Landrum New Chairman John G. Landrum Jr., was elect ed chairman of Group 10 of the N. C. Bankers Association at their annual dinner meeting in Asheville on March 15th. Group 10 comprises all of Wes tern North Carolina bank execu tives. Mr. Landrum served as vice chairman in 1951.
